FIRST UK S-WAY ORDER DELIVERED FOR R.D. WILLIAMS & SONS HAULAGE 50TH BIRTHDAY

The first IVECO S-WAY order placed in the UK has been delivered as its recipient celebrates 50 years in business.

Huntingdon based haulage company R. D. Williams & Sons (Haulage) Ltd placed the very first two orders for the truck, which launched in IVECO’s new WAY heavy range, with Guest Truck and Van, the UK’s leading dealer of IVECO vehicles.

The company has now received the vehicle, including a range of high-end additional items such as: DVS Kit, Top Rear Lockers, Alloy Wheels, Perimeter Lights and more.

The delivery comes as the company celebrates 50 years in business.

Representing a modern addition to the company’s fleet, the new truck joins a fleet of more than 50 vehicles and 100 trailers, used by a 65-strong team of employees and drivers.

Andy Williams, Director and third-generation leader of the business, said: “We have a range of IVECO vehicles across our fleet and when we were introduced to the IVECO S-WAY, I felt it would complement our fleet perfectly.

“It is a fantastic vehicle and obviously, by going with the premium specification, we feel we will be getting the absolute best from what it has to offer.”

The delivery was made by Bal Singh, Key Account Director with Guest Truck and Van, who has worked with Williams Transport for more than 25 years.

He said: “We are delighted to continue this partnership with Williams and think it should make a perfect 50th birthday present for Andy and the team.

“The IVECO S-WAY has already proven to be incredibly popular amongst our clients, thanks to its clean and green credentials and incredible connectivity.

“The team have gone all out to ensure that they get the absolute best this incredible vehicle has to offer and I am sure they will put it to good use.”

The IVECO S-WAY, which launched in Europe last year, takes connectivity to a new level through its Connectivity Box, promoting added control, productivity and TCO benefits for both driver and the transport manager.

It also boasts an entirely new cab and improved aerodynamics, resulting in a claimed 4% fuel economy improvement over its predecessor.
